School Board Executive Session Meeting

Monday, April 22, 2024 - 2:00pm


On Monday, April 22nd, the board will meet in executive session to discuss subjects allowed by statute (labor negotiations) but may not take final action, except for specific instances pertaining to student matters.  Executive sessions may be held during regular, special or emergency meetings for any reason permitted by law. Members of the media may attend executive sessions, except in these specific instances: deliberations with persons conducting labor negotiations; expulsion hearings or those pertaining to confidential student medical records; and litigation involving the news media. (Policy BDC).  See agenda below.  

Executive Session.  Open Meetings and The Public Meetings Law - ORS 192.610 to 192.690 - All meetings of the governing body of a public body shall be open to the public and all persons shall be permitted to attend any meeting except as otherwise provided by ORS 192.610 to 192.690.  Exception:  Executive Sessions - ORS 192.660 - The Public Meetings Law authorizes governing bodies to meet in executive session in certain limited circumstances.  Executive session is defined as “any meeting or part of a meeting of a governing body which is closed to certain persons for deliberation on certain matters.” ORS 192.610(2). Posting requirements - 24 hours in advance.
