Community Connection Projects

We gathered the following activities to encourage our community to engage with each other, while respecting social distancing and safety precautions:

Teddy Bear Project
Community members display a teddy bear or other stuffy in their widow.
Children can go on a sightseeing walk to see how many teddy bears they can find.
If helps to make walks feel more exciting.
It also aids in feelings of community engagement

Rock Project
Community members can paint rocks and leave them for others to find.
Also makes getting out fun and give a feeling of care and connection.
Possible scavenger hunt.

Community Scavenger Hunt
On-line or posted scavenger hunts.
Create and/or participate.

Mask Making
Community members make home made masks to share with members of the community.

Letters/cards to people on the front lines
Community members write letters/cards of care and gratitude to "front line workers".
Deliver/mail to local hospitals, law enforcement and fire departments.

Rainbow Hunt
Create a rainbow. Use different locations and mediums...house windows, driveways, car windows, paper cutouts, chalk, paint.
Post general location on social media #NMSDrainbow so others can find.

If you have ideas to share that will engage the community, please email diana.ash@nmarion.k12.or.us.
