Meal Program for 2023-2024 School Year The Federal Waiver for free student meals, put into place when the pandemic began, ended June 30, 2022. Congress decided not to extend this waiver. Meals will be served and charged as they were prior to the pandemic. Applications must be submitted in order to qualify for Free or Reduced Meals. Starting in July of 2022
Families must apply for the free or reduced price meal program in order to qualify. A new application must be completed every year. Families who do not qualify for free or reduced price meals will need to begin depositing money in to their student’s meal account. It is very important that families fill out the free and reduced application. Oregon has expanded the income guidelines to help more families qualify for no cost meals. We encourage all of our families to take a look at the application and fill it out. Some people may not think they qualify, but they do. Children need healthy meals to learn. North Marion School District offers healthy meals every school day. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals or for no-cost meals through Oregon’s Expanded Income Guidelines for public schools. Below are some common questions and answers to help you with the application process. SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024 1A. WHO CAN GET OREGON EIG (Expanded Income Guidelines) NO-COST MEALS?
