North Marion School District Announces New High School Principal!

Over the past month, the district has conducted a thorough search to find the next Principal for North Marion High School following the announcement of De Ann Jenness's retirement after 18 years of leadership and service as the principal of the High School.

Last week, the district announced to high school staff that Nathan Stanley has been selected to lead our Huskies beginning the 2025-2026 school year.

Nathan currently serves as an Associate Principal at Tualatin High School, where he started in 2021. Prior to that, he has held the role of Athletic Director in both Portland Public Schools and the Lake Oswego School District. In addition, Nathan spent 12 years of his career at Redmond High School as a Social Studies teacher and Athletic Director. He was also the Head Wrestling Coach and Head Football coach during his time in Redmond.

Throughout the selection process, Nathan distinguished himself at every phase. During site visits within the Tigard-Tualatin School District, colleagues described Nathan as intentional, creative, and thoughtful. In one conversation, a Tualatin High School parent said, “If Mr. Stanley says he is going to do something, he does it!” Another teacher shared that as a leader, he listens to staff and seeks their feedback in thoughtful ways, building systems that serve students. We are excited to have Nathan joining our team in North Marion.

Nathan says, “I am truly humbled and honored to have been selected as the Principal of North Marion High School. I appreciate this opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community, and I am excited to collaborate with the team at North Marion High School to foster a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where every student can thrive.”

Nathan will officially join the district in August. We will collaborate with him throughout the spring to prepare him for success in the fall.
