There were smiles all around at Screaming Circuits' 20th anniversary dinner where they presented a donation to the NHMS robotics At North Marion High, business and robotics are a nice match

Screaming Circuits of Canby recently celebrated its 20th year in business by sharing its good fortune with the next generation of computer science and robotics engineers within the North Marion High robotics program.

Sherie Moran, a CTE teacher and adviser at North Marion High School, was invited to accept a donation check for use in purchasing robotics parts and apparel for the three teams in her robotics program at the Screaming Circuits celebration dinner on Oct 25. Also on hand was NMHS Principal DeAnn Jenness and alumni Isabella Mon and Shawn Ostrander.

North Marion High School senior and FBLA President Grace Davenport found out this December that she’d been admitted to the University of Notre Dame on full scholarship — a great achievement for any student, but Davenport also overcame a great deal to achieve that.

The North Marion PTO is thrilled to announce that it is bringing back the Holiday Store next week.

During Holiday Store, every student in the Primary, Intermediate, and Middle schools has the opportunity to pick one or two gifts for their family members. Gifts are free. The North Marion Holiday Store will be open on December 12, 13, 15, and 16 (every day next week except Wednesday) in the Intermediate School’s Lower Gym.

The North Marion High School staff beat the North Marion Middle School staff by a close margin, 61 to 57, in a basketball game on Nov. 29. Yet everyone was a winner because the purpose of the game was not to compete but to raise funds for families in need, and the event certainly did that.

Faster Internet Oregon is a statewide speed test campaign to improve internet service. The campaign invites Oregonians to test and report their home internet speeds or to indicate that they don’t have an internet connection at home.

Chemeketa Community College logo Chemeketa Offering Free Classes!

Chemeketa Community College is offering 6 FREE college classes (including free books too) for high school students this upcoming Winter Term.

Classes will be held from Jan. 9 to March 25. The file below includes instructions for what students must do in order to participate.

The last page outlines all of the classes that Chemeketa is offering, as well as class schedules and any possible prerequisites.

All classes are completely online and are in the evening.
