Screaming Circuits of Canby recently celebrated its 20th year in business by sharing its good fortune with the next generation of computer science and robotics engineers within the North Marion High robotics program.

Sherie Moran, a CTE teacher and adviser at North Marion High School, was invited to accept a donation check for use in purchasing robotics parts and apparel for the three teams in her robotics program at the Screaming Circuits celebration dinner on Oct 25. Also on hand was NMHS Principal DeAnn Jenness and alumni Isabella Mon and Shawn Ostrander.

Being chosen as one of four school districts in the state to be featured in the Oregon School Boards Association's Promise of Oregon campaign is an honor. That honor includes our students being featured on the OSBA's website.  This week spotlight was on High School Junior Kira Bonser!

Being chosen as one of four school districts in the state to be featured in the Oregon School Boards Association's Promise of Oregon campaign is an honor. That honor includes our students being featured on the OSBA's website, including Yadira Romero Navarro.

The OSBA website feature is particularly touching because Romero Navarro shares a little about her life and her dreams. This is what she says:

Middle School Media Assistant Marie Jones will be retiring at the end of the school year after 24 years with the North Marion School District.

It’s official. The Reindeer Parade is a North Marion Primary School tradition.

Local students, staff, and families united to provide hundreds of gifts for people in need this December with two Giving Tree events.

Seeing the North Marion Football Team regain its strength has been like watching an incredible game that lasted for three seasons.

The group — composed of  North Marion junior Amelia Gianella and North Marion grads Colby and Logan Gianella —  will perform during a fundraiser from 3 to 4 p.m. Dec. 17 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1036 E Lincoln St. in Woodburn.

The North Marion School District has had some incredible musical performances already this fall, and there is so much more to come this school year!

The North Marion High School staff beat the North Marion Middle School staff by a close margin, 61 to 57, in a basketball game on Nov. 29. Yet everyone was a winner because the purpose of the game was not to compete but to raise funds for families in need, and the event certainly did that.

There are gaps in internet service throughout the state.

Faster Internet Oregon is a statewide speed test campaign to improve internet service. The campaign invites Oregonians to test and report their home internet speeds or to indicate that they don’t have an internet connection at home. 

North Marion senior Esmerelda Pacheco Contreras had an amazing Fall Term as the only female athlete to letter on the Football Team and one of the few girls to ever join the team. Now, her Winter Term’s already playing out to be just as exciting as she breaks new ground on the Wrestling Team.
