Dear North Marion Families,
Thank you so much for all of your input and support in our Community Survey! The survey is now closed.
These survey results will be important in guiding our School District’s mask-optional plan. We are also offering COVID-19 guidance for families and FAQs based on your answers to the survey.
Below are the results:
Community survey (in English) (162 respondents): 72.2% of community members will not ask their children to wear a mask in school. The remaining 27.7% would either ask their children to wear a mask sometimes or all of the time.
Community survey (in Spanish) (108 respondents): 90.7% of community members will either ask their children to wear a mask sometimes or all of the time. The remaining 9.3% will not ask their children to wear a mask in school.
Results from the community survey in English are on the left; results from the community survey in Spanish are on the right:
Student survey (in English) (51 respondents): 74.5% will either wear a mask sometimes or all of the time at school. The remaining 25.5% will not wear a mask in school.
Student survey (in Spanish): No one took the survey in Spanish.
Staff survey (in English) (162 respondents): 52.6% of staff members will not wear a mask at work. The remaining 47.3% would either wear a mask sometimes or all of the time.
Staff survey (in Spanish): One person took the survey and said that they would probably wear a mask sometimes, depending on the circumstances.
On the left are student survey results and on the right are staff survey results:
Please note that we know families who have been more greatly impacted by COVID-19 than others may remain masked. We remind our community that it is important to support everyone’s personal decisions around masking choices and to be caring and supportive.
Next week, we will implement the mask-optional plan for the North Marion School District.
Thank you again for taking the time and care to participate in this important process.
Sincerely,
Ginger Redlinger
Superintendent
