Fifth-Grade Farewell!

This past Tuesday, staff and students gave fifth-graders, including Rogan Lee, left, and Armando Mata, fabulous sendoff.

(Check out the YouTube video of the fifth-grade farewell!)

One minute, you’re a wide-eyed third-grader thinking about multiplication tables. In a blink of those wide eyes, you become a fifth-grader, one who is about to take the leap into Middle School. If you don't take in the moment, you might miss it. However, the North Marion community made sure that didn't happen!

Forming two lines, K–5 School staff and students gave the fifth-graders a huge sendoff this past Tuesday, sharing laughter, cheer, and high-fives. Fifth-graders rushed down the middle of those two lines of supporters on the way to the buses (or doubled back and headed to the car pickup lane). It was a wild day full of excitement — and enormous creatures.

Continuing a tradition of silly costumes for the sendoff, Instructional Assistants Aimee Ford and Cyndi Nelson donned inflatable flamingo suits. They weren’t the only ones to dress for the day, with PE Teacher Matt Prom delighting in a towering T. Rex inflatable suit. Congratulations to our fifth-grade finishers!
