Superintendent's Message - June 28, 2024

Dr. Bill Rhoades

Dear North Marion School Community,

Congratulations!  And thank you for supporting such a strong finish to a year of Purpose and Possibility! As my time with you comes to a close and I reflect on the past three years, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to serve alongside such an incredible community. While on our mission to learn together, we have worked through challenges,  celebrated achievements, embraced traditions, and rekindled the spirit of hope and inspiration that defines North Marion.

I am particularly moved by the spirit and resilience of our graduates of 2024, who faced and conquered the challenges posed by the pandemic with grace and determination. The Senior Walk created a wonderful vision of the culmination of years of hard work and growth. Their achievements and the celebration of their graduation were truly memorable highlights of my time here. It was wonderful to see so many friends, family, and supporters join in the recognition of their achievements.

And thank you too for joining in the other rich traditions of our transition celebrations, each one a symbol of achievement and readiness for what lies ahead. The 8th grade promotion, the 5th grade promotion, and the second grade fly up ceremony all marked significant milestones in our students' educational journey and they inspired us, as they reminded us of our student’s limitless potential.

And those final field days were not just days of fun, but moments filled with joy, excitement, and a clear  love for our schools and staff. Seeing and hearing our students so engaged in these activities was a testament to the strong bonds and sense of community that we have cultivated together.

As I transition to new opportunities, I want to extend my best wishes to each of you. I am confident that under Dan's leadership, this remarkable staff and school community will continue to thrive and reach new heights. You are in fantastic hands.

I will deeply miss the North Marion community and the relationships that have enriched my life during my time here. Thank you for welcoming me, for giving me permission to lead, and for the support and grace you shared as we worked and learned together. Please take care and have a wonderful summer.

With Spirit and Gratitude,

Bill
