Three New COVID-19 Cases in the North Marion School District

A microscopic view of the COVID-19 virus

The North Marion School District currently has three new COVID-19 cases: a diagnosed case at the High School, a diagnosed case at the Middle School, and a presumptive case at the Primary School. Parents whose children were exposed and need to quarantine have already been directly notified.

The School District Nurse has been in contact with the Marion County Health and Human Services Department to protect the health of our community. The North Marion School District is either in the process of contact tracing or has completed it for each case.

The School District continues to require face coverings and social distancing for students on campus, to require students to use hand sanitizer as they enter a building and wash their hands throughout the day, and to limit the number of students in smaller spaces.

The best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is by staying home when ill, wearing face coverings, physical distancing, and getting vaccinated. People who are fully vaccinated do not have to quarantine, but can monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19. Please note that children ages 12 and older may receive the Pfizer vaccine.

COVID-19 information can be found on the Oregon Department of Education’s Health, Safety, and Wellness page, the Oregon Health Authority’s COVID-19 page, and the North Marion School District’s Reopening Schools page.
