Superintendent's Message - December 18, 2023

Teacher reading to students

Greetings North Marion Families and Friends,

I hope you are finding joy in the spirit of the season! It is hard to believe that we are about to launch a new year! I have been so inspired by our children at school.  Their acts of kindness and selfless generosity toward others, the pride they find in making gifts for friends and family, their pure joy while singing and performing music, the expression in their art, their excitement in working together, their “never give up” efforts in sports and activities, the time they spend serving others, and the thoughtfulness and caring in their words. They bring such great spirit to our schools and it is so nice to be able to come together to support them!

As I reflect on their diverse strengths and qualities, I am reminded of the words of author Isabelle Allende, who once said, “You only have what you give. It is by spending yourself that you become rich.” Your dedication to nurturing and modeling these values for our children demonstrates our community's commitment to their well-being. Thank you for teaching them kindness, empathy, and the importance of giving to others. Your guidance has helped them develop confidence in themselves and empowered them to share their unique strengths with others. I am incredibly thankful for the privilege of serving such a wonderful and enriching school community.

I look forward to seeing all of you as we begin a new year and a new season of “spending ourselves” to build belief in what we can do together. We wish you a healthy and safe holiday season and the peace, joy, and happiness you deserve as we celebrate a New Year. Please take care and enjoy safely, your time with family and friends.

Thanks again for learning with us and for engaging together to serve the children of North Marion.

With Spirit,

Bill
