North Marion School District Announces New High School Football Coach

On April 14, 2025, Matt Arnold became the new head football coach for our North Marion Huskies.

Coach Arnold was selected after a comprehensive 4-step screening and interview process, which considered feedback from a panel consisting of community members, staff, administrators, and responses from in-depth reference checks.

Coach Arnold has experience as a head football and softball coach in the Marion County area. This includes assistant and head positions at West Salem, Blanchet, Amity and North Salem High Schools. He is our current Head Softball Coach, is the Founder and CEO at The Titan House Youth Network, and is involved as a volunteer coach and assists in organizing sports programs for the Willamette Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Coach Arnold is a positive leader who is committed to mentoring student athletes. His outstanding organizational and personal skills focus on motivating student athletes to reach their full potential. His goal is to build a program that emphasizes not only athletic performance but also academic success and character development.

It became very clear during the selection process that Coach Arnold is a champion for all students. He leads with energy and enthusiasm. His demonstrated collaborative approach will fit in perfectly with the North Marion School community. When asked about how he felt about the new position, Coach Arnold stated, “I am honored and grateful to join the North Marion School family. This is a special place with outstanding community support and a deep commitment to excellence. I look forward to building a strong, competitive program that instills a sense of pride and dedication that helps our athletes grow as players and individuals”.

Superintendent Dan Busch stated, “I am thrilled with the recommendation from the selection team to have Matt Arnold as our football coach. If anyone spends any time with Matt, his passion for athletics and what he can provide our student-athletes is obvious. His deep love for football is evident and I am confident that he will provide an outstanding experience for our football players. I know Matt will sow seeds of success that can grow this program that all Huskies will be proud of.”

Coach Arnold grew up in Dallas, Oregon, and he, his wife, and four children are excited to call North Marion School District home. If you see them around North Marion, please give them a warm welcome.
