Three of North Marion’s own will be performing this Saturday afternoon.

North Marion junior Amelia Gianella, and two of her four brothers, Husky alumni Colby and Logan Gianella, combine their musical talents to form the Gianella Trio. The group will be filling the Woodburn United Methodist Church with music, ushering in the second installment in the much-awaited return of the “Who’s on Third?” Community Concert series, which runs on the third Saturday of the month.

For: Anyone living in Woodburn, Hubbard, Aurora, or Donald. Proof of residency must show current address and must be within the last three months of signup. Families must show proof of their children. This can be any form of identification that specifically shows their first names and age.

Signup dates: Thursday, November 10, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 19, 9 a.m. – noon. These are the only days they will be hosting a live, in-person signup.

The North Marion Boys and Girls soccer teams both almost made it to the finals in the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) 4A State Championships. While both their victorious runs ended during semifinal games on Nov. 8, the teams left a lasting impression of fiery athleticism as they rushed through the grass through slashing rain. The teams also inspired a deep pride in the community.

North Marion student-athletes bask in the moment after both Girls and Boys soccer teams won the quarterfinals. North Marion’s Soccer Teams Emerge Victorious Again!

Welcome to Aurora, aka Soccer Town, USA! The North Marion Boys and Girls soccer teams both bested their opponents during Saturday, Nov. 5 games, progressing to the semifinals in the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) 4A State Championships.

“The Boys upset the #1 seed, Stayton,” High School Athletic Secretary Anita Whitehead said. “They were trailing 0-2, but came back to win 3-2! It was a thrilling game!”

North Marion students are holding a blood drive on Nov. 30 Give Back, Give Blood

National Honor Society (NHS) members are inviting staff and students to give blood during the North Marion November Blood Drive this month.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 30 (late-start Wednesday) in Gym 2 at the High School, 20167 Grim Road NE, Aurora. The event will support the American Red Cross, a national nonprofit providing humanitarian aid and a blood bank for patients in need of a transfusion.

Five reasons to sign up for free or reduced meals Five Reasons to Apply for Free or Reduced School Meals

This flyer shares five reasons to complete a free or reduced school meals application, including access to tasty meals and increased funding to support student education.

Where do you get applications? You can still apply online for the 2022-2023 school year. Meal applications are also available on the NMSD Nutrition Services website and at school offices and the District Office, school cafeterias, and the Nutrition Services Office at the Middle School.

North Marion High School senior Yadira Romero Navarro was voted the most likely to become the President of the United States. 

It's no surprise if you know Romero Navarro.

At North Marion, she is currently the President of the Associated Student Body and President of MEChA. She is also Editor of the Yearbook and Vice President of the Key Club. As if all that weren't enough, the National Honor Society member is also the FBLA Service Coordinator.

It's no wonder her peers think she could someday become Commander in Chief!

North Marion Boys Soccer trounced Marist during the first round of the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) 4A State Championships.

The 3-0 win on Tuesday in Eugene advanced North Marion to the quarterfinals, where the team will play Stayton. The North Marion community was proud of the team’s performance on the field.
