This Giving Tuesday, Maps Community Foundation has chosen to divide a total of $10,000 among 20 schools in Oregon — two of which are in the North Marion School District.

We are proud to share with you the framework for the North Marion School District Strategic Plan that will guide our work together over the next three years.

Next month, students, under the leadership of Director Carol Read, will be taking on “Working: The Musical.” The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 10 in Gym 2 at the High School, 20167 Grim Road NE, Aurora

An educator and administrator with 20 years of experience has left the Gladstone School District to come work for North Marion, starting Nov. 8.

There will be three Ready for Kindergarten Workshops for incoming Fall Term 2023 kindergarten students and their parents:

Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read stopped by North Marion Middle School on Monday to treat students to a presentation on what he does and what his work means to him.

For: Anyone living in Woodburn, Hubbard, Aurora, or Donald. Proof of residency must show current address and must be within the last three months of signup. Families must show proof of their children. This can be any form of identification that specifically shows their first names and age.

Signup dates: Thursday, November 10, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 19, 9 a.m. – noon. These are the only days they will be hosting a live, in-person signup.

Signup location: Woodburn City Hall, 270 Montgomery Street, Woodburn

The North Marion Boys and Girls soccer teams both almost made it to the finals in the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) 4A State Championships. While both their victorious runs ended during semifinal games on Nov. 8, the teams left a lasting impression of fiery athleticism as they rushed through the grass through slashing rain. The teams also inspired a deep pride in the community.

North Marion High School senior Yadira Romero Navarro was voted the most likely to become the President of the United States. 

It's no surprise if you know Romero Navarro.

At North Marion, she is currently the President of the Associated Student Body and President of MEChA. She is also Editor of the Yearbook and Vice President of the Key Club. As if all that weren't enough, the National Honor Society member is also the FBLA Service Coordinator.

It's no wonder her peers think she could someday become Commander in Chief!

National Honor Society (NHS) members are inviting staff and students to give blood during the North Marion November Blood Drive this month.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 30 (late-start Wednesday) in Gym 2 at the High School, 20167 Grim Road NE, Aurora. The event will support the American Red Cross, a national nonprofit providing humanitarian aid and a blood bank for patients in need of a transfusion.
