The Oregon Department of Education is specifying that school districts create an operational plan.

There will be an online learning option for students who would like to stay home in the coming school year. The North Marion School District is partnering with Pearson Connexus Learning Platform to create a Virtual Online Program for the 2021-22 school year.

Through the program, students will still be enrolled in a North Marion school, but they will be able to take classes online with certified and licensed Oregon teachers. 

Willamette Career Academy has issued this announcement: "Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel our Dedication Ceremony on August 26 at 2:00 p.m. Our number one priority is opening school safely and in-person, and we believe it is in the best interest of our community and school to mitigate risk as much as possible.

We still welcome you to attend our Open House on August 26 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. for a sneak peak of our incredible facilities. We will have shifts of small groups going through the building to tour the school and meet our staff.

A North Marion High School 2020 graduate and student firefighter was instrumental in saving a Woodburn food pantry from being destroyed in a fire on Aug. 16.

All students will be able to eat both breakfast and lunch at no charge (free) during the 2021-22 school year.

Oregon Department of Education officials notified North Marion School District Director of Nutrition Services Lori Gamboa that there will be a federal nutrition waiver that will allow meals to be offered without charge to all students for the 2021-2022 school year.  The lunch and breakfast programs for this school year are open to any enrolled North Marion student at no charge.

The North Marion School District maintenance team has taken care of the high water on the grounds by the District Office and Middle School.

When several Hispanic students at North Marion High School approached School Board Vice Chair Bill Graupp about racial issues in the classroom at the start of the 2020-21 school year, he made the choice to not only listen to them, but to take action.

That’s because, for Graupp, a School District is only as strong as the students within it.

School Board Adopts 2021-2022 School District Academic Calendar: The calendar committee this year collaborated together with representation from our parent group, educational assistants, teachers, school board and administration and worked very hard to capture the values of maximizing instructional time, we are pleased with the outcome. We approached the design of this calendar with the mindset, "Plan for what we know, remain nimble and respond as need arises."
